Note: You may need your Windows 95 or Windows 98 CD-ROM in order to complete this operation. Click Start, Go to Control Panel and click the Network icon. Highlight TCP/IP and click Remove. Now click OK. You may get a message about your network not being complete and do you want to continue. Simply click 'Yes'. You will now be asked to Restart your computer. Allow your computer to restart. After your computer reboots, Go back to Control Panel and the Network icon. You should NOT see TCP/IP in the list of installed components. If you do, you will need to delete it again following the steps above. Click "Add". Double-click "Protocols". Highlight Microsoft on the left hand side and choose TCP/IP on the right hand side of your screen. Click OK. Click "OK" again and you will have to again restart your computer. After your computer reboots, reconnect to the Internet and see if the speed has improved. |
